IGNOU Patna Regional Centre: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Patna regional center, was established on 4 May 1991 with 33 study centers. After the division of the state into Bihar and Jharkhand, the 13 study centers came under the authority of Jharkhand regional center and the rest 20 remained under Patna regional center.
The Patna regional center is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). At present this regional center has 52 study centers spread across the various districts of Bihar including Aurangabad, Arwal, Bhojpur, Buxar, Gaya, Jamui, Patna, and many more.
Patna Regional Centre offers 50 undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma programs like MA in Economics, English, PGDT, PGDDM, BCA, BSW, DCE, DECE, CDM, CFN, etc for the higher education of the candidates.

IGNOU Patna Regional Centre Admission Updates 2026
Patna Regional Center accepts the admission forms of the applicants twice in a year in January and July. The admission process for July AY has commenced at the IGNOU Patna Regional Centre and the last date for completing the registration is 15 July 2026. For filling out the application forms applicants are advised to visit the official website of IGNOU i.e. @ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.
