IGNOU Deoghar Regional Centre: This RC was established to offer efficient administration and to monitor the student support centres in the region. On 26th May 2011, the centre bifurcated from Ranchi Regional Centre so it could provide better educational assistance to interested students. Mr Arvind Manoj Kumar Singh operates the regional centre as the senior regional director.
The Deoghar RC is the second department in the Jharkhand state, just after the Ranchi regional centre. Currently, the office has six districts under its jurisdiction, such as Godda, Pakur, Jamtara), Dumka, Sahebganj, Ranchi, along with one district of North Chotanagpur Division (Giridih).

IGNOU Deoghar Regional Centre Offered Courses
There are 10 programs under the MA stream: two courses under PG and Advanced Diploma, seven under Bachelor’s Degree, five under Diploma, 11 Certificates, and 1 Appreciation Program. Under these prominent streams, the programs the RC offers to students are MCom. Additionally, they provide Post Graduate Diploma in Disaster Management (PGDDM) and Post-Graduate Diploma in Rural Development (PGDRD).
For Bachelor’s degrees, options include a BA in Psychology, BCom, and BCA. The Diploma programs feature options like a Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (DECE) and a Diploma in HIV and Family Education (DAFE). Certificate programs include a Certificate in Disaster Management (CDM), a Certificate in Environmental Studies (CES), and a Certificate in Human Rights (CHR).
IGNOU Deoghar Regional Centre Admission Updates 2025
The admission procedure will commence at the IGNOU Deoghar Regional Centre on 12 May 2025* for the July 2025 academic session and the last date to apply will be 30 June 2025*. Admission to IGNOU programs is simple, and candidates can apply online or by visiting the regional centres.
Students of Deoghar RC can apply on the official website ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in, or they can venture to the office to apply with the physical papers and fees. Application on the website requires scanned documents with online payment.
IGNOU Deoghar Regional Centre Admission Process 2025
- Go to the regional office portal @rcdeoghar.ignou.ac.in.
- Once on the homepage, navigate to the “Contact Details” section and click on “Admission for July 2025” and arrive at the application site ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.
- On the page, click on “Click here for new registration”, and on the next page, add the name of the student, create a username, password (It must be unique and within 6 to 9 alphanumeric characters), email address, mobile number, verification code and tap on “Register”.
- Return to the previous page, and at the right-hand side, under the “Registered User Login”, enter the user ID, password, and verification code and click on “Login”.
- Next, move forward with the application form, enter your name, your parents’ names, and other required information, and more.
- Make sure to select the course offered at Deoghar RC and carefully upload the documents, like a scanned photograph (under 100 KB), a scanned signature of the applicant (under 100 KB), a copy of relevant educational qualification (under 200 KB), a copy of experience certificate (if required) (under 200 KB), and a copy of category certificate, if from SC/ST/OBC (under 200 KB).
- Make the payment using a debit or credit card or net banking. The fee is INR 300.
