IGNOU Pune Regional Centre: Founded in 1991, March, the IGNOU Pune Regional Centre, focuses on providing the requirements of higher studies and supporting distance region students of the Maharashtra state. Dr. Munish Kumar is leading the regional centre as the authorized senior regional director.
The regional office in Pune began with 13 learning departments. Before 1991, Ahmedabad RC was responsible for these learning support departments. Eventually, the number of study centres increased, covering the need for 2 more RCs in the state of Maharashtra at Nagpur and at Mumbai. In the current year, the Pune regional centre has 15 districts under its jurisdiction of Western Maharashtra and some regions of Marathwada.

IGNOU Pune Admission Process 2026
- The admission process includes visiting the Pune regional centre portal first, rcpune.ignou.ac.in.
- Next, at the top left side of the page, click on the “Student Corner” option to access the “Admission” button and get redirected to the next website.
- Here, at the top right side click on the “Student Services” button and click on “Admissions”. Click on “Apply for ODL Programme” or “Apply for Online Programme” to go to the authorized portal ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.
- Once on the official portal, click on the “Click here for new registration” button to provide the information such as the name of the candidate, and create a unique username and password, it must be alphanumeric with 6 to 9 characters and other details.
- After you have created the login initials, use them under the “Registered user login” section and click on “Login” to complete the account verification.
- After this part is over, it’s time to fill out the application form. Here enter your name, parent’s name, address, mobile number, and other details.
- Next, proceed to choose the program you want to learn at IGNOU Pune regional centre.
- Once you have selected the course, attach the documents such as the scanned photograph and their signature, proof of educational certificates, category proof if from a reserved class, experience certificate if there’s any, identity proof, and others.
- Finally, make the payment of INR 300, using net banking or credit or debit cards, ensuring a safe transaction.
