IGNOU MSC DFSM Admission 2025: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) offers an MSc in Dietetics and Food Service Management (DFSM) program with the aim of meeting the needs of training workforce (dietitians, nutrition counselors, food service managers, etc.) for the employment in this sector (hospital/community dietetics, food service management).

IGNOU MSc DFSM Course Details

The MSc in Dietetics and Food Service Management (DFSM) program offers candidates a unique option to pursue a Diploma in Public Nutrition and Dietetics (PGDDPN). For qualifying for the Diploma in Public Nutrition and Dietetics a candidate needs to complete 30 credits with 3 months of internship (mentioned in 16 credits). After the completion of 30 credits, a candidate can exit the program with a Diploma in Public Nutrition and Dietetics.

This program helps the learners to upgrade their skills in food service establishments, such as dietitians, diet technicians, counselors, etc. and also this course provides an opportunity to enter the field or start their own food service unit, promoting entrepreneurship.

IGNOU offers the option to take the admission MSc in Dietetics and Food Service Management (DFSM) program through online and offline mode. For online admission, a candidate needs to visit the official website of IGNOU i.e. @ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. The admission forms for IGNOU MSc DFSM course under the July session will be available on the official website from 12 May 2025*.

Eligibility Criteria for IGNOU MSc DFSM Course

Candidates must fulfill the mentioned eligibility criteria for smooth admission to the MSc in Dietetics and Food Service Management (DFSM) program:

• A candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in Home Science with a specialization in Clinical Nutrition, Dietetics, or Food and Nutrition.
• Graduates can have a B. Sc or equivalent degrees like BHHS, MBBS, etc. from the following background- Home Science, Life Science, Catering, Pharmaceutical, Microbiology Medical or Food Science and Technology.
• Candidates must have a degree in DNHE (Diploma in Nutrition and Health Education), CFN (Certificate in Food and Nutrition), or CNCC (Certificate in Nutrition and Child Care) from IGNOU to be eligible for this program. 
• Also, enrollment for CNCC/CFN is allowed at the university.

IGNOU MSc DFSM Course Fees 2025

Candidates who want to enroll for the MSc in Dietetics and Food Service Management (DFSM) program must have a clear idea of the fee structure of this course. The fee structure is as follows:-

• The total fee for this program is INR 34,000. IGNOU gives the relaxation to those who cannot pay the full fee at the time of admission so, a candidate can pay their fee per year in the amount of INR 17,000 (Fee for CFN/CNCC, if any, will be additional).
• The fee for the registration is INR 300 which can be paid through credit card, debit card, and internet banking.

IGNOU MSc DFSM Assignment 2025

Master of Science in (DFSM) Dietetics and Food Service Management course assignment submission is ongoing for the IGNOU June 2025 TEE. Students can submit their IGNOU MSc DFSM assignment by the extended last date of 30 April 2025. You must know that the weightage of IGNOU assignment is 30% marks out of 100. Students can submit their assignmets by visiting the nearby regional/study centre or by uploading Google Docs.

• Now, click on the “New Registration” on the left side of the page and fill in all the necessary details required for the registration.
• Now, after the registration click on “Registered User Login” on the right side of the page and upload all the documents required.
• Before making the payment a candidate needs to recheck the application form before submitting it.
• Now pay the fees via credit card, debit card, and internet banking and submit the application form.
• After all these formalities, a candidate will receive a mail on his registered mail ID from the university confirming the successful submission of the application form.
