IGNOU Khanna Regional Centre: The Indira Gandhi National Open University was created after its separation from the Khanna Regional Centre. The RC was established in 2001 April, with the responsibilities of overseeing the educational development in the Union Territory of Chandigarh, and the state of Punjab. Dr. Santosh Kumari is the senior regional director of this department in Khanna.

RC Khanna was again bifurcated in 2009, and the Chandigarh regional centre was established. The districts such as Mohali, Fatehgarh Sahib, Roop Nagar, Patiala, etc, came under the jurisdiction of Chandigarh RC. At first, Khanna Regional Centre began with only 12 learners departments. Currently, it has 55 study centres with thousands of student enrollments.

IGNOU Khanna Regional Centre Admission Process 2026

  • The first step to enrol on a program at IGNOU Khanna Regional Centre is to go to the authorized RC portal, rckhanna.ignou.ac.in.
  • On the site, click on the upper right side of the page option “News & Events” option and click on “Apply for Fresh Admission for January 2026 session”.
  • This will take the candidate to the official link ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.
  • The next step is to register using your name, set a username, and password, and it has to be within 6 to 9 alphanumeric characters. Enter the valid mobile number, email address, a verification code and click on “Register”.
  • Using the previously created login ID, sign in verify your student profile and click on “Login”.
  • After this part is over, complete the online form, add the required details, and choose the course you want to enrol in.
  • Submit the scanned documents such as the passport size photograph, signature of the applicant, educational certificates, category certificate if from a reserved section, address proof, and work experience paper, if required.
  • Pay the fee of INR 300 after submitting the documents. Use net banking, credit or debit cards you can make the payment, and complete the application.
