IGNOU Karnal Regional Centre: In 1991, the IGNOU Karnal Regional Centre was established to oversee the states of Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu, and Kashmir. Later, the jurisdiction of this RC was rearranged. At present, the study centre supervises the entire state of Haryana, except the regions of Panchkula, Ambala, Palwal, Mewat, Faridabad, and Gurgaon. The current senior regional director of the regional centre is Dr. Dharam Pal.
The Karnal RC with its jurisdiction, caters to the educational needs of the remotest areas of the region. The regional centre started with only 9 learners centres in 1991, and now it has 30 active study centres and acts as the nodal department for 15 districts of the Haryana state.

IGNOU Karnal Regional Centre Admission Updates 2026
IGNOU Admission at Karnal Regional Center, has begun and the last date for completing the enrollment process is 15 March 2026. Interested applicants can visit the official website of IGNOU i.e. @ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in for filling up the application form as well as they can register offline also.
Students with a computer device like a laptop or a desktop computer with a stable internet connection can enroll for a program. Or they can visit a cybercafe to take online admission. It will require them to register as a student, fill in the form, select the course, and pay the fee of INR 300 through net banking, or credit or debit cards. IGNOU Karnal Regional Centre Admission Process 2026
- The admission process involves visiting the official link of the Karnal official website rckarnal.ignou.ac.in.
- Once on the page, under the “About Us” section click on “Admission Notification For January 2026”. This will take you to the notification. Go through the page and click on ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in link to access the next step.
- At the left side of the page click on “Click here for new registration” and go to the next section.
- Provide the login initials like username and password, the name of the student, valid mobile number and email address, and click on “Register” to sign up.
- Now, log in with the account using the password and user ID.
- After this, complete the online form, and enter details like the applicant’s name, parent’s name and other details. Select the course you want to apply for and submit the required documents such as category certificate, educational certificates, scanned signature, photograph of the candidate, identity proof, etc.
- Lastly, pay the registration fee of Rs. 300, through debit and credit cards or net banking.
