IGNOU Jammu Regional Centre: The regional center of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Jammu, started working in 1998 when the government of Jammu and Kashmir sent an invitation to build the regional center. The main objective of the J&K government was to provide higher open education to the candidates who belong to the rural areas through distance mode until a separate regional office was built in Srinagar in 1999.
The Jammu RC has embarked their journey with only one regional center and at the present time there are 35 study centers spread across the different districts of Jammu state including Doda, Kishtwar, Bhaderwah, Bhalessa, Surankote, Sunderbani, Rajouri, Kathua, Samba, R S Pura, Udhampur, Chhatroo, Ramban. Apart from these some regional centers are located in the remotest part of the Doda and poonch districts District as far as 350 kms.
This regional center has the privilege of also providing free education to the prisoners, as some study centers have been opened in the prisons of the particular region.

Latest Notification about IGNOU Jammu Regional Centre 2025
- The IGNOU Jammu regional center will invite the admission forms for the July session of UG, PG, Diploma, and certification courses from 12 May 2025*. Interested candidates can visit http://rcjammu.ignou.ac.in/ for admission forms.
- Jammu Regional Center will start the IGNOU re-registration process for 2-year students from 5 May 2025*. Candidates can re-register themselves from the link @onlinerr.ignou.ac.in.

IGNOU Jammu RC Admission Updates 2025
Admission for all the courses at the IGNOU Jammu regional center will start from 12 May 2025*. Candidates who want to pursue their higher education at this university can apply for IGNOU admission from the official website i.e. http://rcjammu.ignou.ac.in/. IGNOU Jammu RC Admission 2025 last date will be 30 June 2025* under the July session. IGNOU Jammu RC Admission Process 2025
Candidates can follow these steps while filling out the admission forms for any course in the Jammu Regional Center. The steps are given below:-
NOTE:- DEB ID is mandatory for submission of application. Please create your DEB ID before starting the application process.
- Visit the official portal:- To start the admission process candidate needs to visit the official portal of the Jammu regional center i.e. http://rcjammu.ignou.ac.in/.
- Find the admission link:- Once reached the portal, Applicants will see a link for the IGNOU in the news and events section. This admission link will redirect a candidate to the official portal of IGNOU Samarth: @ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.
- Enter Required Details:- After reaching the IGNOU portal, the next step is to click on the “New Registration” appearing on the right side of the page. Enter all the details that are asked for admission such as Name, Email ID, Contact Number, and Any other required information.
- Log In:- After completing the registration process, candidates are advised to log in with their registered username and password The login ID will be sent to the candidate’s registered email ID or mobile number.
- Upload Required Documents:- Upload all the required documents such as Passport size Photograph, Signature, Qualification Certificates & more.
- Pay Registration Fee:- Choose the course in which you want to enroll and pay the registration fee of INR 500 via credit card, debit card, and Internet banking.
