
IGNOU Jabalpur Regional Centre: To accommodate the educational needs of the rural and remote area students, especially the tribal section of Madhya Pradesh, IGNOU established the Jabalpur regional centre in July 2005. Initially, the RC started working as a sub-regional centre functioned under the Bhopal department, from March 2004 to July 2005. Dr Somasi Srinivas is the senior regional director at this independent regional centre in Madhya Pradesh.
IGNOU Jabalpur Regional Centre has a total 13 districts under its jurisdiction, all of which are from the eastern section of the state, and mostly take care of the tribal region students. These districts previously included Singrauli, Dindori, Mandla, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Balaghat, Seoni, Chhindwara, Katni, Shahdol, Umariya, Anuppur, and Sidhi.
In 2013, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Rewa, Satna, Panna, Damoh, and Sagar were transferred under the Jabalpur RC, which makes it to 20 study centres at present. The centre also offers academic support to tribal learners in remote regions through mobile learning centres.

IGNOU Jabalpur Regional Centre Admission Updates 2025
According to the recent updates, IGNOU July cycle admission is going to start from 12 May 2025 at the Jabalpur Regional Centre, interested individuals can apply by the deadline of 30 June 2025*. Admissions procedure will be complete on the official website ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. Scanned documents are required for the online admission, and after paying the fee, they can complete the procedure.
IGNOU Jabalpur Regional Centre Admission Process 2025
- Open the preferred browser and enter the RC link @rcjabalpur.ignou.ac.in.
- From the news and events section on the homepage click on the Fresh Admission option to access the authorized portal ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.
- Before starting the application, registration as a student is required on the website. For this, at the left side of the page click on “Click here for new registration” and provide the name of the candidate, set a username, and password in alphanumeric characters, mobile number, email address and register.
- Complete the log-in using the sign-in initials.
- After this, go on with the application form. Enter the details needed there, choose the program you want to enrol in and submit the documents like category certificate, educational papers, identity proof, scanned signature and a passport-size photograph of the applicant, and work experience proof if there’s any.
- Finish the process by paying the INR 300 charge through debit card or net banking.
IGNOU Jabalpur Regional Centre Faculties
The Jabalpur regional centre operates under the management of Dr Somasi Srinivas, the senior regional director. The RC has an efficient system for supporting all students, the staff includes teachers and other members who promote a flexible learning system and offer comprehensive assistance through an information centre, ICT infrastructure like LAN, WI-FI, mobile study centres, EDUSAT facilities, computer labs equipped with servers, computers, CD-writers, stable internet connection, printers and scanners, a library with audio/video cassettes, program guides, reference books and study materials.
