IGNOU Itanagar Regional Centre: It was founded in November 2000 under the North East higher education jurisdiction of the university. The RC started its operation in order to provide advance studies to a large number of students from rural and unreachable places. The regional office in 2014 was awarded the Gold Medal from the University for providing overall best services.
The RC also provides a Diploma in Elementary Education, and through this, it has trained many untrained teachers in the Arunachal Pradesh state, and other districts under its jurisdiction. The Itanagar regional department is functioning under the supervision of the senior regional director, Dr. Loganathan Vadivel.
Itanagar RC is situated at Naharlagun, Arunachal Pradesh, which is 14 km from Itanagar, and 420 km from Guwahati. With a humble beginning, the regional centre oversees many districts of Arunachal Pradesh, and currently it operates in 16 areas, including Anjaw, Changlang, East Kameng, East Siang, Kurung Kumey, Lohit, Lower Dibang Valley, Lower Subansiri, Papum Pare, Tawang, Tirap, Upper Dibang, Upper Subansiri, West Siang, Upper Siang, and West Kameng.

IGNOU Itanagar Regional Centre Admission Updates 2025
Individuals interested in furthering their studies and opening a new horizon of knowledge through distance and online education. IGNOU will commence the admission procedure from 12 May 2025* into the July academic session at the Itanagar Regional Centre.
IGNOU Admission 2025 last date will be 30 June 2025 at Itanagar RC. Students need to visit the official portal of the university @ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in to apply for the admission procedure. It only requires the applicants to register, and apply for their desired program by paying the relevant charge.

IGNOU Itanagar Regional Centre Admission Process 2025
- Applicants have to open the authorized website of IGNOU Itanagar regional centre to access the admission portal rcitanagar.ignou.ac.in.
- From the top right side of the screen, click on “Announcements” and from the latest link click on the fresh admission notice to access the IGNOU admission site, ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.
- You have to register as a student at the website, and for that register providing details such as the name of the student, their mobile number, email address, username, and password and click on “Register” to complete the task.
- Complete the login process adding the user ID, password and captcha.
- Next, proceed to enter the necessary initials in the online form. Determine the program you want to enrol in and upload the documents like the scanned photograph and signature of the candidate, educational certificates and other papers.
- Lastly, pay the INR 300 fee to ensure the enrollment.

IGNOU Itanagar Regional Centre Faculties
To provide comprehensive support to all students of the regional centre, the senior regional director Dr. Loganathan Vadivel, and the entire team of the RC are dedicated to offering many services throughout the year. Students receive educational support through a well-stocked library, interactive satellite terminal, a computer lab, Telephone, fax, TV, VCR, and VCD systems.
Other than these, the RC has a stable internet connection, adequate furniture, seminar halls, WIFI, and ICT facilities and conducts promotional literature of the University. Also, the location of the department is on the highway that connects Itanagar to Banderdewa.
