IGNOU Guwahati Regional Centre: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has established around 56 regional centers all over India and one of them is located in Assam, Guwahati. The Guwahati Regional Centre was established in 1996, providing higher education to candidates from Assam and parts of the North-Eastern region of India through distance and open learning.
With the increasing demands of the students, a new regional center was established in April 2013, at Jorhat, Upper Assam. Guwahati Regional Centre has around 30 study centers across Assam and the North Eastern regional centre.
Guwahati Regional Centre offers 64 programs out of which 7 are undergraduate programs, 17 are postgraduate, 6 Diploma courses, 18 certificate courses, 14 PG and advanced diplomas, and one course in PG and an advanced certificate in MBA, MA, MLIS, MSO, PGDT, PGDAC, BATS, BSc, BEd, BSW, DECE, DCE, CCP, CDN and many more. Apart from these, this regional center also provides one non-credit program.

IGNOU Guwahati RC Admission Updates 2026
Guwahati Regional Center of IGNOU conducts the admission session for all the UG and PG Courses twice in a year, in January and July. Interested candidates enroll for the January academic session as the admissions are ongoing and the last date for completing the admission process is 15 March 2026.
Candidates have to pay a small amount of INR 500 for the registration in any of the courses offered by this regional center. Also, a candidate must match the eligibility criteria for the admission in the course of his interest.

Candidates who are already enrolled for the undergraduate and postgraduate in any of the courses offered by Guwahati Regional Center, and are eligible for the IGNOU 2nd year admission, can re-register themselves from the official website i.e. http://rcguwahati.ignou.ac.in. Candidates are advised to complete the re-registration process till 15 March 2026 to avoid late fees of INR 200.
