IGNOU Delhi 1 Regional Centre: The Delhi 1 Regional Centre of IGNOU was created in 1989, as the main regional office in Delhi. Later, in 1998, another RC was developed and then this centre was renamed Delhi-I. The jurisdiction region of Delhi 1 was again divided after the foundation of another regional centre in 2008 located in Dwarka, known as the Delhi-III. Dr. A. M. Saklani is authorized as the senior director of the Delhi I regional section.
This is one of the first-generation regional departments of IGNOU. It also has high admissions among other RCs in the country, providing educational support to a vast number of individuals from diverse groups of students. The regional office has over 85,000 enrollments every year, and the RC oversees 31 learner support centres under its jurisdiction.

IGNOU Delhi 1 Regional Centre Admission Updates 2025
IGNOU offers admission opportunities twice a year, in July and January. Now University will commence the admission procedure at the Delhi 1 Regional Centre for the July session on 12 May 2025* and the last date to apply will be 30 June 2025* All interested students from Delhi 1 regional centre area can apply at ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. Candidates can also apply directly by visiting the RC in person. Go through the following step-by-step information on admission at IGNOU.
IGNOU Delhi 1 Regional Centre Admission Process 2025
- Open the preferred browser and enter the official URL of the RC rcdelhi1.ignou.ac.in.
- On the first page, under the “About Us” section, click on “Admission Open for January 2025 Session”.
- This will redirect you to the IGNOU application page, ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.
- The first thing you have to do is to register by clicking on the left-side option “Click here for new registration”.
- Add the name of the student, create a unique username and password, it should be alphanumeric within 6 to 9 characters, and other details like the mobile number and email ID.
- Next, input the username and password in the login section and click on “Login”.
- After this, fill up the application, and select the course you want to apply for.
- Attach the documents relevant to the program you have selected, like the educational proof, work certificate, scanned signature and photograph of the student, category certificate, etc.
- Once this is over, pay the fee of the application, which is Rs. 300 through net banking or a debit card.
IGNOU Delhi 1 Regional Centre Faculties
Dr. A. M. Saklani oversees the RC as the senior regional director.
