IGNOU Dehradun Regional Centre: It was established to cater to the educational needs of North-western Uttar Pradesh. This regional department was founded in 1999. At present, the office is situated at Tapovan, Raipur Road, Dehradun. The location is 6 km away from the Railway station, and 10 km away from the Inter State Bus Terminus. The regional senior director of this RC is Dr. Anil K Dimri.
The regional centre in Dehradun started with only 6 learning centres, with 1,200 student enrollments. By 2008, the number of study centres extended to 47, with admissions of 10,000 learners. In 2007, some sections of UP that were attached to this department were separated and linked with Aligarh Regional Centre.
However, until 2017 the districts of Muzzafarnagar, Saharanpur, and Bijnore stayed with the Dehradun RC. Saharanpur, Muzzafarnagar, and Bijnore learning centres were separated in 2018, and they joined the Noida regional centre. At the moment, the Dehradun RC offers higher education in 22 active support centres across the state of Uttarakhand.

IGNOU Dehradun Admission Updates 2025
The admission process at IGNOU Dehradun RC will initiate for the 2025 July session. Students can apply at the regional centre or they can apply on the official website, ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. The enrollment starts on 12 May 2025*, and it will suppose to end on 30 June 2025*. The application process is simple and requires a few detailed steps.

- Go to the Dehradun regional centre website rcdehradun.ignou.ac.in.
- On the homepage, under the “About Us” section, click on “Fresh Admission (ODL/Online) for July-2025:” to access the admission site ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.
- On the page, click on the “Click here for new registration” option to enter the name of the candidate, their valid mobile number, and email address, and create a unique username and password.
- For the login, use the created login details and click on “Login”.
- Enter the required details and choose the program you want to study.
- Next, upload the scanned papers like the photograph and signature of the student, and other required papers.
- Finally, pay the fee of Rs. 300 and complete the steps.
