IGNOU Cochin Regional Centre: The Indira Gandhi National Open University Regional Centre Cochin was established on 17 November 1988. The department was established to impart open and distance education in the Union Territory of Lakshadweep and in the state of Kerala. The head of the IGNOU Cochin RC is Dr. J S Dorothy.
The activities of the university in this region developed and the number of students improved in couple of years. With the formation of the Trivandrum regional study centre, in 2009, the administration of 3 southern districts, such as Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, and Kollam, has been allocated to the regional office in Trivandrum.
In 2011, Vatakara in the Kozhikode district, a regional centre, was established, with the responsibility of 4 northern districts: Wayanad, Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasaragod. In the current situation, the Cochin regional office caters to 7 districts of Kerala, such as Alappuzha, Idukki, Kottayam, Palakkad, Thrissur, Malappuram, and Ernakulam. Additionally, the Union Territory of Lakshadweep is also included under this regional office jurisdiction.

- For the 2025-26 July admission session IGNOU Cochin Regional Centre will commence the application form fill out procedure at it’s the official website. The last date for IGNOU Cochin admission 2025 will be 30 June 2025*.
- IGNOU Re-registration for the 2025 July session will be start from 05 May 2025 at the Cochin Regional Centre. Students need to complete the process before the deadline of 30 June 2025* without paying the late fee.

- Firstly, Visit the official portal of the IGNOU Cochin regional centre rccochin.ignou.ac.in
- Next, from the homepage of the regional center’s official website, under the contact details section, click on the first moving notification to get redirected to the official Samarth portal, ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.
- On the admission page, register using the required information, such as the name of the candidate, their valid email address, mobile number, and so on.
- Login using the registered username and password to complete the account verification.
- Fill out the online application form, and upload the documents such as the scanned educational certificates, scanned photograph and signature of the student, and other papers.
- Select a program carefully, and make a payment of INR 300 using net banking, credit, or debit cards.
