IGNOU Chandigarh Regional Centre: Indira Gandhi National Open University, Chandigarh Regional Centre was formed on 1st January 2009. In open and distance learning systems, the various regional centers play a significant role, through their careful monitoring, coordination, and delivery of diverse programs.
Under the multifaceted delivery system, IGNOU introduced program-specific study centers mainly for professional courses, and special learning centers for women, minorities, rural and remote regions, etc.
Chandigarh RC maintains the link between divisions of the university and different schools and learners support Centers, IGNOU, the stakeholders, and the state government. The IGNOU Chandigarh Regional Centre is supervised by Dr. Bhanu Pratap Singh, the senior regional director. The department started with a few study centers, with its adjoining regions of Haryana and Punjab.

Chandigarh is one of the rapidly advancing RCs in India in terms of multiple decentralized operations, activated programs, number of student support centers, and learner enrollment. - Candidates planning to complete the 2nd year of any course offered at Chandigarh RC are advised to complete the re-registration process till 15 March 2026 as after that INR 200 will be charged as the late fees.

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Chandigarh Regional center has started the admission under January academic session for all Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses. The last date for enrolling in IGNOU Chandigarh Regional center is 15 March 2026. Applicants can find the application forms from the official website of IGNOU i.e. ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.

IGNOU Chandigarh RC Admission Process 2026
- The admission process entails going to the official regional center link rcchandigarh.ignou.ac.in.
- On the webpage, at the top right side, click on “News & Events” to access the latest announcements.
- Here, first click on “Fresh Admission Open for January-2026 Session”, then click on.
- “Click here for more details” button to go to the application portal, ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.
- Register as a student using your personal information like the name of the candidate, mobile number, and email address, and set a username and password.
- You will get the login initials to sign in to the account and verify the profile. Enter the user ID and password with the captcha and click on “Login.
- After this part is complete, fill in the blanks of the online application form using relevant information, and choose the program you want to enroll in.
- Upload documents like scanned copies of educational mark sheets, photographs and signatures of the applicant, category certificates, and so on.
- Choose the payment method (net banking or credit or debit cards) and make the payment of INR 300.
