IGNOU BLIS Admission 2025: Bachelor of Library and Information Science(BLIS)  is a 1 year UG program under which candidates can enhance their skills in academic libraries, public libraries, special libraries, and corporate information Center. Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) provides this course in an affordable and accessible way.

The Indira Gandhi National Open University will commence the Bachelor of Library and Information Science admission procedure into the July 2025 academic session on 12th of May 2025*. IGNOU BLIS Admission 2025 last date will be 30 June 2025* and the total course fee is INR 8,700, complete the admission procedure by visiting the official portal @ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.

BLIS has 10 subjects under which six are practical subjects and the rest four are theory based subjects. In this course a candidate gets practical knowledge as well as theoretical knowledge also. A candidate who is interested in this course can pursue from IGNOU.

The minimum duration of Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLIS) program at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is 1 year and a maximum duration is 2 years. BLIS has 10 subjects out of which 6 are practical subjects and the rest 4 are theoretical subjects. Over the years there has been a tremendous change in the field of libraries that’s why IGNOU has decided to introduce the BLIS program for the students in the year 2000.

The IGNOU admission for BLIS course will begin on 12 May 2025* for the July session. The last date for filling out the registration form will be 30 June 2025*. Students can reach the official website of IGNOU @ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in for registration. Also, they can access the nearest regional Center to apply for BLIS.

The registration fee for the Bachelor of Library and Information Science is INR 300 and the total fee for this program is INR 8,700 per year. The distance program BLIS at IGNOU doesn’t require admission through the entrance exam. Candidate needs at least 50% of marks for admission to this particular program.

For the IGNOU BLIS program a candidate must meet these eligibility criteria to avoid any consequences in the future:-

• A candidate must have a bachelor’s degree with 50% of marks and for the General, SC, ST, and OBC categories 45% marks respectively.
• A candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree with 1 year of diploma in library science for admission.
• Also, a candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of working experience in the Library and Information Centre.
