IGNOU Aizawl Regional Centre: The Indira Gandhi National Open University offers open and distance learning education throughout India, and the Aizawl regional centre is one of the ventures of the university. This study location was established in 2000, December. The authorized senior regional director of this centre is Dr. S. R. Zonunthara.

The Regional Centre began operating with only 9 study centre after its separation from the Shillong regional office. Currently, IGNOU RC Aizawl offers services in 8 regular study centres, 5 Special Study Centre, and 4 program study centres covering all Mizoram districts.

Aizawl regional office now provides 50 academic courses and is working in the process of offering more programs in the future. The facility also has extended activities under voluntary organizations, Government Institutions, and NGOs.

IGNOU Aizwal Regional Centre

The establishment is now operating from a five-storied rented building at the heart of Aizawl. Application for a permanent building has been submitted from the State Government of Mizoram.

IGNOU Aizawl Admission Updates

Aizawl Regional Center of Indira Gandhi National Open University also conducts the admission session two times in an academic year, in January and July and the admission for the January academic session 2026 have started and 15 March 2026 is the last date to apply for the admission at IGNOU Aizawl regional centre. 

IGNOU Aizawl Admission Process 2026

  • The online admission process includes a visit to the official portal of the regional centre rcaizawl.ignou.ac.in.
  • After accessing the intro page, under the “Quick Links” section, click on “Admission Link” to go to the portal.
  • From the left side of the page, click on the “Click here for new registration” button to provide the name of the applicant, and create a strong password and unique username, email address, and mobile number to complete the registration.
  • Next, log in with the set username and password to verify the student profile.
  • Once logged in, enter the correct details on the application form, and select the course you want to study.
  • Submit the necessary documents such as the educational certificates required for the program, the scanned signature and photograph of the candidate, and so on.
  • Now, make the payment through online transaction methods such as net banking, and credit or debit cards.
