IGNOU Ahmedabad Regional Centre: The Regional Centre of Ahmedabad was founded in 1988 to spread education to remote lands. To fulfill this objective, RC Ahmedabad has built learning centers in underprivileged regions of Gujarat. The department was inaugurated by Shri R.K. Trivedi, the then-governor of Gujarat, in the presence of Prof. G. Ram Reddy, the founder and Vice-Chancellor of IGNOU.
At that time, the senior regional director was Dr. P. K. Mehta. Presently the senior regional director is Dr. (Mrs.) Avani Trivedi Bhatt. Ahmedabad Regional Centre was the first department of IGNOU to celebrate its Silver Jubilee in 2012. The RC 2017 also has organized two international conferences along with BAOU the State Open University, Ahmedabad.
IGNOU Ahmedabad Regional Centre has over 60 study centres under its jurisdiction, such as Dahod, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Anand, Banaskantha, Bharuch, Mehsana, Patan, Sabarkantha, and Surat. Besides these places, the RC looks over districts such as Narmada, Navsari, Vadodara, Valsad, Dang, Kheda, Panchmahal, and Tapi.

IGNOU Ahmedabad Admission Updates
The university offers two times admission opportunities, January and in July. Most programs are included in these two sessions. The upcoming admission process for July academic session will start on 12 May 2025 at the IGNOU Ahmedabad Regional Centre. Among the programs, some are offered by the School of Agriculture Sciences or the School of Health Sciences provided in July or January. B.Ed.

IGNOU Ahmedabad Admission Process 2025
- Visit the RC official portal rcahmedabad.ignou.ac.in on your computer and make sure you have a stable internet connection.
- Go to the “Student Corner” section and click on it. Under the “Admission” section, click on the “Click here for more detail” option and access the next page.
- Here, at the top left side of the page, click on “Student Services” and click on “Admissions” to click on either “Apply for ODL Programme” or any other mode you are interested in to go to the official enrollment site, ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.
- Register using the required details, and after that login using the registered username and password.
- After that, fill up the application form, choose your favorite program, and submit the scanned documents like your educational qualifications, scanned photograph and signature of the student, and others.
- Make the payment through net banking and credit or debit cards.
