IGNOU Rajkot Regional Centre: In the path of reaching the un-reached, in 2004, IGNOU established a Rajkot sub-regional centre to handle the operations in the Kachchh and Saurashtra regions of Gujrat. Later, in 2008, the department was upgraded to regional centre. The new building of the Rajkot office was inaugurated by the Education Minister, Shri Dharmendra Pradhanji, on 3 August 2023.
Currently, the IGNOU Rajkot Regional Centre operates from the address Kankot Main Road, Off Kalawad Road, Opp. Adarsh Nivasi Boys School, Mota Mava, Rajkot – 360005. The operations of the centre are handled by Dr Jitendra Singh, the senior regional director.
The regional centre in Rajkot has some districts under its jurisdiction, such as Rajkot, Kachchh, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Surendranagar, Botad, Morbi, Devbhoomi-Dwarka, Gir-Somnath, and Diu (UT). The department looks after the administrative and academic activities, which include 15 learner support in Diu, Kachchh, and the Saurashtra region in Gujrat. Within this area, there are six regular study centres, one program learner centre, and eight special study centres.

IGNOU Rajkot Regional Centre Admission Updates 2026
The admission window at Rajkot Regional Center of IGNOU has been opened and the last date for completion of the admission forms is 15 March 2026. Candidates need to pay INR 300 for confirming the seat in the particular course they are interested in pursuing at Rajkot RC. Applicants must bring the fill-up form with the documents relevant to the course they have selected and make the registration payment.
For the online application, the IGNOU website ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in is active for the process. Candidates have to upload the scanned papers and submit the registration fee using net banking or credit or debit cards.

- Start the process by accessing the regional centre website @rcrajkot.ignou.ac.in
- Next, under the “Quick Links” section, click on the “Apply for New Admission” button to go to the IGNOU portal, ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.
- Register on the page by clicking on the “Click here for new registration” button and enter the details like the name of the applicant, user ID, password, valid mobile number, email address, and click on “Register”.
- Log in with the username and password you have created while registering and entering the captcha, click on “Login”.
- Fill out the application form, choose the course you want to study at the university and submit the scanned documents such as relevant educational qualifications, a scanned passport-size recent photograph of the student with their signature, category certificate, and so on.
- To complete the application, pay the fee of Rs. 300.
IGNOU Rajkot Regional Centre Faculties
Dr. Jitendra Singh administers as the senior regional director at the Rajkot office. The RC is well-known for its excellent student support services, like helping learners with their assignments, admission, exams, etc. Apart from these, the department offers an LCD projector, LAN facility, laptop i5 fourth generation, a well-stocked library consisting of relevant study materials, audio/video cassettes/CDs, reference books, program guide and many more.
