This AICTE-approved program offered by the School of Management Studies (SOMS) at IGNOU covers 116 credits. Courses included in the MBAOM program are Management Functions and Organisational Processes, Human Resource Management, Marketing Management, Business Communication, Research Methodology for Management Decisions, Entrepreneurship, Total Quality Management, International Business Management, and many more.
This program is designed to provide basic knowledge on how to be a good manager as required by industry in the present time and also to understand the concept of business management. If any candidate is not interested in continuing his/her studies, then they have an option of leaving the program after the completion of 56 credits from the first year. Candidates who complete their 56 credits, will get a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDIM) from IGNOU.

IGNOU will invite the admission forms for the July session of Master of Business Administration in Operations Management from 12 May 2025*. The eligibility criteria for the Master of Business Administration in Operations Management (MBAOM) at IGNOU are as follows:-
- Candidates must own a Bachelor’s degree from a well-reputed institution in any stream with 50% of marks.
- Applicants who belong to reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC) have a relaxation of 5% of marks i.e. such candidates only need 45% of marks for enrollment into this program.
