IGNOU Chandigarh Regional Centre: Indira Gandhi National Open University, Chandigarh Regional Centre was formed on 1st January 2009. In open and distance learning systems, the various regional centres play a significant role, through their careful monitoring, coordination, and delivery of diverse programs.
Under the multifaceted delivery system, IGNOU introduced program-specific study centres mainly for professional courses, and special learning centres for women, minorities, rural and remote regions, etc.
Chandigarh RC maintains the link between divisions of the university and different schools and learners support centres, IGNOU, the stakeholders, and the state government. The IGNOU Chandigarh Regional Centre is supervised by Dr. Bhanu Pratap Singh, the senior regional director. The department started with a few study centres, with its adjoining regions of Haryana and Punjab.

Chandigarh is one of the rapidly advancing RCs in India in terms of multiple decentralized operations, activated programs, number of student support centres, and learner enrollment. IGNOU Chandigarh Regional Centre Offered Courses
The IGNOU Chandigarh RC offers many courses in MA, BA, PG, and Diploma, and more in distance and regular modes. Some of the distance courses offered are, Master of Library and Information Science, MSC in Degree in Dietetics and Food Service Management, MA in Social Work, PG and Advance Diploma in Construction Management, PG Diploma in Translation, and so on. The RC provides one regular course is Post-Graduate Diploma in Clinical Cardiology.

IGNOU Chandigarh Regional Centre Admission Updates 2025
IGNOU Admission to Chandigarh regional centre started on 12 May 2025 for the July academic year. The tentative last date will be 30 June 2025* for IGNOU Chandigarh Regional Centre Admission 2025, so students can apply within this timeframe. Candidates have to visit the official admission portal of IGNOU Samarth, ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. IGNOU Chandigarh RC Admission Process 2025
- The admission process entails going to the official regional centre link rcchandigarh.ignou.ac.in.
- On the webpage, at the top right side, click on “News & Events” to access the latest announcements.
- Here, first click on “Fresh Admission Open for July-2025 Session”, then click on.
- “Click here for more details” button to go to the application portal, ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.
- Register as a student using your personal information like the name of the candidate, mobile number, and email address, and set a username and password.
- You will get the login initials to sign in to the account and verify the profile. Enter the user ID and password with the captcha and click on “Login.
- After this part is complete, fill in the blanks of the online application form using relevant information, and choose the program you want to enroll in.
- Upload documents like scanned copies of educational mark sheets, photographs and signatures of the applicant, category certificates, and so on.
- Choose the payment method (net banking or credit or debit cards) and make the payment of INR 300.
