IGNOU Online BLIS Admission 2025:  The admission for the Online Bachelor of Library and Information Sciences at Indira Gandhi National Open University will start on 12 May 2025* and the deadline for the forms will be 30 June 2025*. A candidate who is eligible or wants to be admitted to the Online BLIS can fill out the forms by visitng the official website of IGNOU https://ignouiop.samarth.edu.in before the mentioned deadline.

Also, IGNOU gives an option to the candidate for the offline submission of the application forms by visiting the regional center. A candidate has to pay a small amount of INR 300. The Eligible candidate who is interested in enrolling in this program must have a bachelor’s degree from any discipline with 50% of marks.

The duration of Online Bachelor of Library and Information Sciences is 1 year offered by the School Of Sciences in English language.Online Bachelor of Library and Information provides theoretical knowledge as well as practical experience to the candidates. This course has 9 subjects out of which 5 are practical based subjects and the rest 4 are based on theoretical knowledge.

An applicant gets in-depth knowledge about topics such as Library and Society, Library Management, Library Classification Theory, Library Classification Practice, Library, Information, and Society, Communication Skills. IGNOU conducts the Online classes for the Online Bachelor of Library and Information (BLISOL) on every weekend which helps an applicant to enhance their skills by working in the field.

The classes for this course will be conducted through the online mode. For online classes a candidate must have a laptop and a good internet connection. The term end exam (TEE) is conducted twice in a year i.e. July and December which gives more time to the candidate for the preparation.

The IGNOU admission of Online Bachelor of Library and Information program (BLISOL) will begin from 12 May 2025* and the last date for the BLISOL admission will be 30 June 2025* into the July 2025 academic session. The fee for the registration for this program is INR 300 and the total fee of this program is INR 8,500 which can be paid through the different modes of payment like Credit card, Debit card and Internet Banking. Also a candidate can visit the regional centre of IGNOU for the offline submission of forms and for the payment of the fees.

IGNOU Online BLIS Course Eligibility

A candidate must fulfill the eligibility criteria of the IGNOU for admission to the Online Bachelor of Library and Information program (BLISOL) at IGNOU. The eligibility criteria are as follows:-

• Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree with a diploma in Library Science.
• A candidate must have 50 % of marks in their graduation and for the reserved category (SC, ST, OBC) there is a relaxation of 5% i.e. candidates belonging to the reserved category must have 45% of marks in their bachelor’s.
• Candidates having bachelor’s degree and 2 years work experience in the field of library or information centre can also enroll for this program. 

IGNOU Online BLIS Course Fees

The total fee for the IGNOU Online BLIS program is INR 8,700, additionally candidates have to pay a small amount of INR 300 as the registration fee at the time of admission.

Candidates can pay their fee through different online modes of payment like credit card, debit card and internet banking. Also there is an option of paying the fee through offline mode by visiting the regional center for the fee payment.

Steps for the IGNOU Online BLIS Admission 2025

NOTE:- DEB ID is mandatory for submission of application. Please create your DEB ID before starting the application process.

• So the first step includes that the candidates have to visit the official portal of IGNOU i.e. https://ignouiop.samarth.edu.in for registration.
• Now, a candidate will see a column of  “New Registration” on the left side of the page. 
• Register yourself by clicking on that particular option and filling up all the necessary details required for the registration.
• After that, you need to go back to the homepage again to complete the login process.
• Log in by clicking on “Registered User Login” on the right side of the page and enter the Username, Password, and Captcha.
• Now upload all the documents required in sequence and complete the login process. 
• A candidate must remember to preview the application form before submitting it.
• After the reassurance, pay the fees for admission via credit card, debit card, and Internet banking and submit your application form.
• Now a candidate will receive a mail on their registered mail ID confirming the successful submission of the application form.
• The application form will be reviewed by the official authority of IGNOU and if a candidate gets selected he/she will receive an email on his/her registered mail ID to join as a student for the program.

Candidates who don’t own a laptop or good internet connection can fill up their application form by visiting the regional center of the IGNOU. Candidates have to submit the hard copy of Application forms, required documents for the admission and the payment.

• A scanned copy of the applicant’s educational qualification (less than 200 kb).
• Applicant’s passport-sized photograph(not more than 200 kb).
• A scanned copy of Applicant’s signature
• Applicant’s identity and a valid address proof
• Applicant’s Category certificate (if from SC, ST, OBC)
• Work experience certificate of the candidate (if any)
